Since officially launching in April 2026, our Community Sound Sessions Initiative, proudly powered by iMake Art Foundation (iMAF) and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, has been transforming how young creatives connect, collaborate, and grow across London.

Designed as a year-long creative journey, this initiative provides young people with accessible opportunities to explore music production, artist development, audiovisual storytelling, and live performance.

Why Community Sound Sessions?

At iMake Art, we believe that creative expression is a powerful tool for personal development, community building, and career pathways. However, access to high-quality studio equipment, professional mentorship, and live performance platforms can often feel out of reach for emerging talent.

Thanks to the generous support of The National Lottery Community Fund and players of the National Lottery, our 12-month program bridges that gap.

Here is what we are delivering across the year:

  • Hands-on Studio Recording Sessions: Giving aspiring artists, producers, and engineers direct access to professional equipment and guidance.

  • Quarterly Live Showcase Events: Our signature Off The Record (OTR) events give emerging performers a platform to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.

  • Creative Networking: Bringing together singers, rappers, DJs, videographers, and sound engineers to build lasting creative relationships.

  • Digital Media & Content Exposure: Helping artists document their journey with professional photo and video content to amplify their profiles online.

The Journey So Far

From our launch in April through to our recent Off The Record Vol. 2 showcase in October, the energy surrounding the Community Sound Sessions has been incredible.

We’ve seen artists step onto the stage for the very first time, creative relationships formed on the spot, and an expanding network of young talent supporting one another. Every session reinforces what happens when young people are given the space, resources, and trust to express themselves.

With six months down and six months to go, we are only getting started!
