The E-CEB workshop series is a comprehensive five-week journey designed to equip aspiring and developing music professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate today's dynamic landscape.

 

Delivered in interactive, two-hour weekly sessions, this course provides a deep dive into the business of music, from foundational copyright law to the latest digital marketing strategies.

Detailed Program Outline

Course Structure & Weekly Breakdown:

 

  • Duration: 5 weeks (10 hours total delivery).

  • Target Audience: New and intermediate entrants aged 18–30+.

  • Delivery Style: Interactive, multimedia-supported, and inclusive sessions featuring group discussions and real-world case studies.

 

The 5-Week Roadmap:

 

  • Week 1: Introduction to the Music Industry Ecosystem

    • Exploration of the industry’s evolution from vinyl to streaming, current trends, and future prospects like AI and VR.

    • Mapping the ecosystem: recording, distribution, publishing, and live events.

    • Foundations of Copyright Law and Intellectual Property rights.

  • Week 2: Finishing Your Song & Understanding Royalties

    • Technical introduction to mixing and mastering fundamentals to ensure professional sound quality.

    • A deep dive into music royalties: Mechanical, Performance, Synchronization, and Streaming income.

  • Week 3: Distribution & Streaming Strategies

    • Optimizing music for major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and TikTok .

    • Navigating DIY distribution options (DistroKid, CD Baby, Tunecore, AWAL) and release strategies like the "Waterfall" method.

  • Week 4: Social Media Marketing & Fanbase Building

    • Profile optimization and brand identity across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

    • Creating content pillars and posting strategies to maximize engagement and growth.

  • Week 5: Monetization, Networking & The Elevator Pitch

    • Strategic approaches to live performance, merchandise, and sync placements.

    • Effective networking techniques to access industry opportunities and build collaborations.

    • Crafting a compelling elevator pitch to make a lasting first impression.
